All counties in Illinois offer the opportunity to vote early. Bring an ID with your current address with you.
No picture ID required.
You do not need to fill out a special application or have a reason to vote early. Check with your local county government or election authority for times and places, or visit the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
Work in Downtown Chicago?
Cook County allows voters to vote at any of the early voting locations throughout Cook County. This allows people to vote during lunchtime near their place of work. Downtown workers can vote at 69 W. Washington. The City of Chicago also has an early voting location there.
There is no “absentee voting” any longer. There is early voting and vote by mail. Registered voters may cast a ballot prior to Election Day without having to provide a reason for wanting to vote early.
