Coming June 2: STATE of the STATE Luncheon
Patrick Collins The League is celebrating its 90th Birthday this year, making our 2010 State of the State event more special this year than ever. "The State of Reform in Illinois" is this year's topic, and Patrick Collins will be our keynote speaker. Collins was chair of the Illinois Reform Commission and lead prosecutor in the trial of former governor George Ryan. The luncheon will again be held at the beautiful Union League Club of Chicago.

April 1: NATIONAL CENSUS DAY
If you haven't mailed in your Census form, do so today. Beginning in April and continuing through July 2010, Census workers will be visiting households that did not return forms.

April 16: NEW DEADLINE for IL FAIR MAP PETITIONS

Keep getting those petitions signed! Send the signed and notarized petitions to the League office - League of Women Voters of Illinois, 332 S. Michigan Ave., Ste. 1150, Chicago 60604 - by April 16.

April 21: RESPONSIBLE BUDGET COALITION RALLY
Illinois must pass a meaningful revenue bill, such as HB 174, now! Join League and other coalition members in Springfield for a Responsible Budget Coalition Rally! To participate or just to learn more, send an email to our Issues Chair, Kim Reed, at issues@lwvil.org.

Time for Action
on CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION LIMITS

Thanks to Senators Steans, Frerichs, Delgado, Noland, Garrett, and Koehler; and Representatives May, Franks, Mathias, and Coulson for signing on as cosponsors of SB 2532 and HB 6200. Ask your state legislators to also sign on to these bills, which will extend Campaign Contribution Limits to General Elections for contributions from Legislative Leaders and PACs. HEALTH CARE REFORM Legislation
