Illinois Leagues Plan Fall Events:

October 30: The Highland Park League will hold a
"Greener City" Town Hall Meeting with the City of Highland Park as
part of its Climate Matters project.
November 2: The Oak Park / River Forest League
will have a panel of experts discuss "Healthy Moms, Healthy
Children: A Conversation about How Maternal Depression Impacts
Families and Communities."

November 7: The Cook County League's plans
include a talk on Cook County Health Care and a tour of Fantus
Clinic and Stroger Hospital. To make reservations, call the
Cook County League at 312-939-5935 x 28 and leave a message.
November 7:Leagues of Kane County (Elgin Area,
Carpentersville Dundee Area, Geneva-St.
Charles and Batavia)
will hold a Consensus Meeting on Mental Health. The consensus
follows a Kane County Mental Illness/ Developmental Disability
Study.
November 9: The League of Women Voters Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth
is presenting a program entitled "Our Lake Has Reached
the 11th Hour," a panel discussion on Lake Michigan Water
Quality.
November 13: The Naperville League is planning
a meeting on "Funding Schools for All Our Children"
with Ralph Martire, Director of the Center for Tax and Government
Accountability, as speaker.
November 15: The Collinsville League is sponsoring a public forum on the
Show Us Amendment with Jim Broadway of the
IL Democracy Project as one of four panelists.
November 27: McLean County League members
will tackle the topic, "Fighting Terrorism: Effective
Alternatives to Military Solutions."

Be sure to bring a picture id with you the first time you vote.
Be an election judge! High School Seniors can serve
as election judges as long as they meet the following requirements: U.S.
citizen; minimum 3.0 GPA; permission of principal and parent. College
Students who are not entitled to vote in the precinct or county where
they go to school, can still be an election judge in that county. Contact
the County Clerk's office. Find your local contact information at www.elections.il.gov
