Issues: Consolidation of Governmental Entities
LWVIL has been a partner with Transform Illinois since 2016 and works with this group to educate, advocate and conduct research about whether governmental entities should consolidate or remain separate.
LWVIL's position was adopted in 2015 and since that time a subcommittee was formed to examine this issue, a presentation was made at both the 2016 Issues Briefing and the 2017 Convention and an Issues Specialist has joined the Issues Committee review legislation and made recommendations on League activities in this area. ![]() Tranform Illinois Coalition's 2017 Fall Conference & Transformer Awards, Celebrating Collaboration and Innovation in Government, will be held on October 19th from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at the ComEd Commercial Center in Oak Brook. Governing Magazine columnists, Katherine Barrett and Richard Greene, will lead a lively, interactive discussion as they share examples of government innovation from across the nation.
All are welcome and we are looking for at least 20 League members to attend. To register, please do so at the following link: http://www.metroplanning.org/events/affiliated/detail/412 |
