Barbara Kwiatkowsky has served on LWV of Illinois’ Board of Directors since January 2026. She is chairperson of the LWVIL Issues & Advocacy Committee and the LWVIL volunteer lobby corps.
Barbara joined the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn in early 2021 after moving with her husband to Glen Ellyn from Oak Park, Illinois. She volunteered to serve on the Civic Betterment Party Study and was the recipient of the LWV of Glen Ellyn Outstanding New League Member Service Award. Barbara agreed to serve on the 2022-2023 LWV of Glen Ellyn Board as Director of Local Government. She took on the role of Co-President with the LWV of Glen Ellyn from 2023-2025. In 2024, Barbara also served on the LWVIL Mis/Disinformation Task Force and attended the LWV national conventions in 2022 and 2024. At present, Barbara serves on the LWV of Glen Ellyn Board as the VP of Communications.
She is committed to service, taking on leadership roles in the League, as well as in her Village, where she serves on the Environment Commission. Barbara also is on the board of Go Green Glen Ellyn and volunteers at the food pantry.
