Ed Yohnka: Election Integrity in Illinois

Edwin Yohnka is the Director of Communications and Public Policy for ACLU of Illinois, serving as a primary spokesperson for the civil rights advocacy organization. He began his job at the ACLU in June 1999. He appears regularly on television and radio programs in Illinois and throughout the nation. Yohnka also is widely cited in newspapers and publications on legal and legislative matters related to the ACLU of Illinois’ priorities.


State Revenue and Progressive Tax

How could the cuts in the federal reconciliation bill, HR1, to SNAP and other programs, along with the tax cuts in that bill, impact Illinoisans? Data centers are popping up everywhere—but how do we build them sustainably for communities and the environment? Learn what data centers are and what they are used for, and what communities should be aware of as local and state officials balance the demand for growth with environmental and residential impacts.

Event Information

Registration to attend this event in person closes April 9 at 8:00 am. In-person seating will be limited to the first 200 registrants. Registration to attend virtually will remain open. If you have any questions, email issues@lwvil.org.

Doors open at 8:15 am. The program will begin promptly at 9:00 am. A continental breakfast will be served in the dining room adjacent to the meeting auditorium until 10:00 am. Venue offers auditorium seating with tabletop and outlets/USB ports by each seat.

If you are attending in person, you have the option to purchase a boxed lunch while registering or instead opt to bring your own lunch. There will be no opportunity for attendees to leave and buy lunch elsewhere. The boxed lunch service offers gluten-free options as well as a vegetarian option.

Registration for boxed lunches closes on April 1 at 8:00 am.

Boxed Sandwich Meals include: Sandwich, potato chips, apple, chocolate chip brownie and beverage (Sparkling Water, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Starry Lemon Lime)

  • Classic Turkey Club: Smoked turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato on sourdough bread

  • Grilled Chicken and Gruyere: Grilled chicken with Gruyere, tomato, roasted pepper garlic aioli on wheat bread

  • Tuna Salad Sandwich: Tuna salad, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, basil aioli on sourdough bread

Boxed Salad Meals include: Salad, assorted dinner rolls (French, Seeded or Wheat) apple, chocolate chip cookie and beverage (Sparkling Water, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Starry Lemon Lime)

  • Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken: Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, homestyle croutons, shredded parmesan, Caesar dressing

  • Mandarin Orange Spinach Salad: Spinach, romaine, red leaf lettuce, mandarin oranges, red onion, toasted pepitas (GF pumpkin seeds) with balsamic vinaigrette (VEGETARIAN  OPTION)

  • Garden Salad with Grilled Chicken: Romaine, spring mix, grilled chicken, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots. Balsamic or honey french dressing (GLUTEN-FREE OPTION)
