ENERGIZE Leadership Training

It’s time for LWVIL’s annual leadership training! This virtual event series will highlight successful local League practices to help Leagues grow membership, strengthen engagement, and effectively manage League operations.

This series is open to all new and experienced leaders of Illinois’ local Leagues, as well as any interested members. The program includes one main panel discussion and four breakout sessions—attend as many as you wish!


Main Event

The Truth: Managing Leagues and Engagement

Saturday, September 19, 9:00 am

Local League leaders will discuss membership growth, community partnerships, engaging younger members, and strengthening community involvement. Panelists will share practical examples and answer questions from attendees.

Leagues represented on the panel include Rockford, McLean County, Palatine, Joliet, Glen Ellyn, and Peoria.

Google Workspace and Portal Records

Monday, September 14, 7:00 pm

Learn how to set up and use Google Workspace, explore its benefits, and see how one League implemented it. The session also covers maintaining official League documents in the League Portal.

Treasurer and Stripe 101

Tuesday, September 15, 7:00 pm

An overview of the Treasurer's role, C3/C4 reporting requirements, recordkeeping, incorporation basics, and using Stripe reports in the League Portal.

How can local Leagues better connect with members and the public? Learn how to leverage social media platforms and build an engaging newsletter featuring practical steps to create fresh content and elevate your reader engagement and brand strategy.

Issues and Advocacy

An overview of why and how we do issues and advocacy work, as well as specific information on how local Leagues request state support for issues, including action alerts, lobby corps efforts, and event support.
