Registration
League members can attend Convention as delegates representing their local League or as observers.
Convention begins Friday, June 20 with the virtual opening ceremony from 7:00–9:00 pm. Convention business will be held in person on Saturday, June 21 at the Northern Illinois University Naperville Conference Center (1120 E Diehl Road) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
DELEGATE Registration
Per LWVIL bylaws, the number of delegates any local League may send to Convention is proportional to the number of members that League had listed in LWVUS Roster on January 31, 2025. View 2025 delegate counts.
Please contact your local League’s board to register as a delegate. Delegate registration closes Thursday, June 12 at noon.
Delegates must attend in person on Saturday, June 21 in order to participate. Delegate admission costs $50 and includes a buffet breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Contact convention@lwvil.org for information on reduced delegate admission costs.
OBSERVER Registration
Members who are unable to serve as delegates are encouraged to attend as observers. Observers may attend in person or watch virtually.
In-person observer admission costs $50 and includes a buffet breakfast and lunch; registration closes Thursday, June 12 at noon.
Virtual observer admission costs $20; registration closes Wednesday, June 18 at noon.
Hotel Information
LWVIL has reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton by Hilton Chicago-Naperville (1087 East Diehl Rd, Naperville, IL 60563). Check-in is 3:00 pm on Friday, June 20; checkout is noon on Saturday, June 21. Reserve your hotel room through this link. The deadline to reserve your room at our discounted rate is Saturday, May 31.
Watch Parties
We encourage local Leagues to hold gatherings to view the virtual opening ceremony on Friday, June 20 from 7:00–9:00 pm. Delegates and observers can indicate their interest in these events when registering. Details to come.
Arboretum Outing
Join us for social time and lunch before Convention begins! LWVIL will host a visit to the Morton Arboretum for delegates and observers on the afternoon of Friday, June 20. Attendees will receive free admittance. Delegates and observers can indicate their interest in this outing when registering.
Juneteenth Celebration
On the eve of our state Convention, celebrate Juneteenth with LWVIL and special guest Van Gilmer, civil rights activist, renowned vocal soloist, composer, choral director, and music director at the Bahai House of Worship. On Thursday, June 19, at 7:00 pm, join this virtual program to hear inspirational music and Mr. Gilmer’s stories of civil disobedience at the Greenville South Carolina lunch counters in the 1960’s. Come together with League family in fellowship to commemorate the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the Civil War. Register to attend.
