Emily Kowalski is the Associate Director of Environment Illinois, a policy and action group with one mission: to protect the natural world. She manages the marketing and public engagement strategy for campaigns that promote clean air, clean water, clean energy, wildlife and open spaces, and a livable climate. 

Emily co-leads several statewide coalitions including the Protect Illinois Waters Coalition, that is advocating for the Wetlands Protection Act, and the Coalition for Plastic Reduction.

Emily has been working in the environmental advocacy and social change field since 2010.  Over her career she has worked on college campuses as an environmental organizer, directed door-to-door citizen outreach offices and, immediately prior to her current role, was the  administrative director for Environment America and PIRG.
