Leagues Gather for National Convention

07/01/26

The grassroots nature of the League of Women Voters is what sets it apart from other organizations and contributes to our continued success. The League recently welcomed more than 800 members to Columbus, Ohio (+ over 400 attending virtually), for our 2026 National Convention. Over four days, members from across the country came together to learn, collaborate, and prepare for the work ahead.

Delegates elected new national leadership (including Illinois' own Sania Irwin of LWV Glen Ellyn as the new LWVUS President!), set the League's priorities for the next biennium, and recommitted to Unite & Rise 8.5 as we mobilize communities to strengthen democracy and drive record participation in the 2026 midterm elections.

Thank you to all of the Illinois members who participated!
