Making Good Trouble

On July 17, we honored the anniversary of the passing of civil rights hero John Lewis with action. League members and supporters attended rallies across the state during a national mobilization honoring Lewis’ legacy and recommitting to the fight for voting rights and democracy. 

The League was an official sponsor of this day of mobilization. LWVUS Chief of Activation and Justice Marcia Johnson and LWVIL President Becky Simon were featured speakers at the Chicago rally at Daley Plaza.

This is OUR moment—thank you to everyone who came out to carry the torch of John Lewis and show the world that good trouble lives on.
